Why my site isn’t perfect

So for whatever reason, you’re here on my humble site and perhaps without realising it, you’re judging it’s design.

It’s far from perfect. It’s design is not something I feel proud of. But it’s also not something I’m going to loose sleep over. This is my playground, not my business anymore so I’m content playing with it’s design and layout.

In the past month, I’ve changed it’s design numerous times, just for the sake of trying something new. In some ways I’m using this site as a live experiment. It’s a place where I get to prod at WordPress, without significant implications.

I’m not a developer, though I know enough code to make a mess and break things. I enjoy installing themes, pulling them apart, making updates on the fly and breaking all of my normal rules. This sort of play keeps my hands dirty and my mind open to aspects of development I would otherwise not see in my day-to-day work. And it reminds me how hard it is to do development, giving me added respect for the developers I work with.

This site will never, ever be finished. I accept that, and love it. It will change and develop. Sometimes I may break things, delete things, make mistakes or do something fabulous. It’s an adventure.

So please don’t judge this site too harshly, remember it’s my playground.
